Pipe Repair

Fenner Precision develops flexible silicone expansion bladders for non-invasive, "no dig", repair of worn or damaged pipe, such as potable water pipes, chimney flues, oil and gas pipes.
Silicone Bladders for "No Dig" Pipe Repair
For oil and sewer pipe repair, Fenner Precision has developed pipe kits made from fabric-reinforced silicone to make the no dig process work efficiently.
For pipe repair, the expansion bladder and epoxy repair material are turned inside out and collapsed into a bellows shape, which is typically performed above ground. The assembled repair material and expansion bladder are then lowered through a manhole. Hot water is circulated through the expansion bladder causing the bellow to expand and position the pre-preg inside the full length of the damaged pipe. Once the repair material is positioned correctly, the expansion bladder is further expanded to hold the repair material up against the inside of the damaged pipe while it cures from the circulating hot water. Once the cure process is completed, the expansion bladder is deflated and withdrawn from the repaired pipe.
