Silicone Rubber Tires Standard Dimensions Range

OD/ID
This tire drawing shows the inside diameter (i.d.) and outside diameter (o.d.)

Outside Diameter (mm) Width (mm) Inside Bore Diameter (mm) Shaft Diameter
8 to 250 5 to 650 6 to 200 5% to 15% bigger than bore diameter

Bore size relative to shaft size is dependent on the tire wall thickness and the tire width.

Silicone Properties

Hardness Range

Fenner Precision's Winthane silicones can be formulated in hardness ranges from 10 shore A to 75 shore A durometer.

Temperature Resistance

Winthane silicone maintains its elasticity and physical properties over a wide range of temperatures from 230° C (446° F) to -60° C (-75° F).

Chemical Resistance

Winthane silicone elastomers offer good chemical resistance to oils and greases.

Weather Ability

Winthane silicones withstand environments which break down conventional elastomers over extended periods. Silicones offer good ozone and UV light resistance.

Electrical Performance

Winthane silicones are naturally electrically isolative. Specially engineered silicones can be produced to offer semi-electrical conductivity used in electrostatic imaging applications.

Low Compression Set

Winthane silicones have excellent elastic memory and low compression set properties make them ideal candidates for tire applications.

Bondable to Metal

Winthane silicone bonds reliably to clean, porous surfaces. High strength bonds, stronger than the elastomer itself, can also be achieved on nonporous surfaces such as metals through the use of surface treatments and primers.

Engineered Silicone Elastomers

High-temperature resistant, Solvent resistant, Thermally conductive, Electrically conductive.

Engineered Properties

  • Thermal Conductivity
Winthane silicones can be formulated to obtain various levels of thermal conductivity by the addition of iron oxide, aluminum oxide and other materials.
  • Electrical Conductivity
Winthane silicones can be formulated to semi-conductive ranges with the use of carbon fillers in the formulation.
  • Self-Lubricating
Winthane silicones are self-lubricating with the addition of phenyl silicone fluids.

Fenner Precision custom formulates hundreds of silicone compounds. Properties vary greatly depending on the application the silicone is designed for. The follow chart shows a small sample of our compounds used to help describe the vast range of properties available.
