Many customer applications require the development of new innovative materials. Fenner Precision employs laboratory and chemical engineering staffs to respond quickly to these needs.
Our material analysis department, in our Buffalo, NY facility, evaluates incoming materials using Near Infra-Red (NIR) Analysis or Titratio and can be custom formulated in our state-of-the-art laboratory. Prototypes are then created using an automatic metering mix machine that simulates actual production equipment. This capability allows us to respond quickly to customer requests and ensures a smooth transition from R&D to production. Molded materials are then evaluated for specific physical properties as needed for the application, using a broad range of testing capabilities, including modulus, tensile, tear, elongation, compression set, rebound, tabor abrasion, electrical conductivity, chemical compatibility, bond strength, coefficient of friction, environmental stress and more. Strategic partnerships can be utilized for additional testing capabilities that may be needed on a less frequent basis. The end result is an innovative, cost-effective solution ready to be quickly put to work in a full production setting.
