Challenge
A leading multi-national OEM manufacturer of Office and Production equipment, such as Digital Printers, Copiers and Multi-Function machines, was tasked with streamlining an assembly in their printing press. At that time, they were sourcing a segmented roller from a competitor that had a highly manual, time consuming glue and assembly process, adding high cost to the component.
Approach
Our Fenner Precision Application Engineers reviewed the customer’s needs, presenting design recommendations and collaborating with them on the component manufacturability, resulting in the finalized design for an improved, automated interference fit press fixture process.
Results
By targeting and eliminating the highly manual gluing assembly process, the automated press fixture guaranteed higher manufacturing efficiency, improved yield rates, and subsequently significant cost savings.
