Fenner Precision's customer, a leading electrical heating element manufacturer, required a material that was flat and flexible, with good heat resistance properties for the production of a range of flexible silicone rubber heaters for the food / catering industry.
Approach
Fenner Precision's engineers worked closely with their silicone compound supplier to source a Food and Drug Adminstration silicone regulated in CFR 177.2600.
Results
Fenner Precision's world class technical team used their knowledge and expertise to develop an unreinforced silicone sheeting, in either cured or uncured form, using the FDA approved silicone compound to respond to the customer's specific application requirements. Produced on calenders, the range has since expanded and enquiries have been received for glass fabric coated with FDA approved silicone in various widths, thicknesses, hardnesses and colours - selections are made by the customer depending on their precise application needs for the manufacture of their particular etched foil or resistance wire flexible silicone rubber heaters. Yet another example of how Fenner Precision designs products to fit our customer's needs....Exactly!
