Composite Manufacture – FenForm

Available either cured or uncured, our unique FenForm™ is a high performance, reusable silicone membrane designed for composite manufacturing.

With high resistance to both tearing and creasing, FenForm™ provides the reliable, high quality solution required in vacuum moulding, laminating and ‘release cloth’ methods of composite production.

FenForm™ is reusable, providing a cost effective and environmentally-friendly alternative to disposable plastic bags in the VARTM (Vacuum Assisted Resin Transfer Moulding) and SCRIMP (Seemann Composites Resin Infusion Moulding) processes.

The silicone material is also flame resistant which provides an extra level of safety within your application. It provides excellent UV and ozone resistance, as well as strong chemical resistance, making it the ideal solution for your composite manufacturing needs.

As the leading specialists in designing and producing bespoke silicone solutions, Fenner Precision can successfully coat most every organic elastomer, including natural rubber, EPDM, and polychloroprene.

  • Silicone coated fabrics for this market are available with both faces uncured (DUC), one face cured and one face uncured (SUC) as well as both faces cured (CC)
  • Silicone coating thickness can be as little as 0.1mm [0.004”]. There is no real limit on the maximum coating thickness, as multiple layers can be added as required.
  • Most of our materials for this market are red as the material that gives them the red colour, red iron oxide, gives improved heat ageing characteristics however many other colors are also available.
  • Coated fabric materials are usually supplied with a smooth polythene release material against each face, on cardboard cores.
